Antique ICONIC Colt SAA Single Action Army in .41 Long with Factory Letter, Holster, and Brass/Ammo, Shipped 1891

Here we have the antique collector's dream gun: a Colt 1873 Single Action Army. She's chambered in .41 Long Colt, with a Colt factory letter proving original chambering and 1891 shipment date. If you're considering this ad, you know how prized these are. This was the gun that won the West, also dubbed the "Peacemaker", "Hog-leg" and "Frontier Six-Shooter" among others and carried by outlaws, ranchers, lawmen, bounty hunters, and cowboys. They are beautifully made, practical, and better known than any other Colt model. It's uncommon finding one of these that are antique in Canada, as in addition to being pre-1898, it's very hard to find them not chambered in .45 Colt, .38 Colt, .44-40, or other calibers that are not eligible for Antique status. Call or email me for questions, more pictures/videos, or to make a deal. As an antique, this handgun is not registered and can be sold to you without paperwork - a rare opportunity in today's Canada.

Now for the details of this big iron:

-Single action only, hence the name SAA (many considered double action revolvers to be unsophisticated and crude given their lower accuracy and heavier trigger pull. This ol' gal is for more refined sharp shooters).

-The action is very reliable, with solid indexing and timing of the cylinder, and tight lockup.

-The hammer makes all four clicks through the five positions – forward, rebounded, half cock, cylinder locked half cock, and full cock - with absolutely no slipping and strong mainspring.

-The ejector rod and spring work flawlessly, making case ejection simple.

-All serials match 141 8XX

-Comes with serialized Colt archive letter showing this revolver shipped in an order of 50 to St. Louis, Missouri on July 13, 1891.

-Comes with genuine leather dyed and stamped quick draw holster

-Comes with 50 cases of brand new Starline .41 Long Colt brass, & loaded ammo if you have PAL. I can refer you to sources for getting your brass reloaded.

-Comes with RCMP FRT antique paper

-Marked "41 COLT" with patent dates on the left side, and barrel address

-The black hard rubber grips are in great shape, don't appear original.

-The period nickel has been lost in some of the high spots, but overall still about 95% present

-The rifling is clearly defined in the "Gunfighter Model" 4 ¾" barrel, with strong lands and some scattered oxidation in the grooves

-The cylinder pin is the original screw release variety (not push release). Someone has put some surface scratches in the knurling attempting to remove it at some point

I have closeup photos & videos of the condition/reliability of every part of this gun. Reach out for more info!
