Compact Prism Scopes

Prism sights are ideal as a battle sight for rifles, as their flexibility means they can be used at both close, mid and occasionally longer ranges quite comfortably.
They tend to be heavier than a red dot but lighter than a Low Power Variable Optic.

Vector Optics Paragon x1
$250
The Paragon x1 (and the x3) are often mistaken for red dot sights but they are not. The x1 Paragon is ideal for someone wanting a close quarters optic but don’t want to be at the mercy of batteries. In the cold Canadian climate there is some wisdom in avoiding something battery dependent in the outdoors. The Paragon x1 is not as fast as a red dot, but it is pretty close.
The design of he Paragon x1 is as low profile as possible. No opaque protrusions to reduce situational awareness. Controls, windage and elevation adjustments are close to the body of the optic.
If the end user really wants to, the glass etched reticle can be illuminated in red for shooting at dark contrasted backgrounds. Most of the time, this feature will not be needed. (I don’t even have batteries in mine)
The Paragon x1 comes with a low mount and a high mount to be optimized for a large variety of firearm types, from the traditional Mossberg shotgun to the 180C.
Caliber Range (max): 12ga, 338.
Ideal For: Shotguns, PC9, SKS, FX9, Scorpion, Raven 9.

Vector Optics Paragon x3
$250
The Paragon x3 is designed with a 223/556 caliber rifle in mind with its holdover graduations below the circle cross reticle but it can easily be used for other calibers and remains a popular choice for other intermediate caliber rifles.
This optic and a low power variable optic both seem to fit the niche as a generalists scope but the Paragon x3, with less moving parts and bulk, is lighter and more durable.
The reticle is glass etched and does not need batteries to work but if a contrast is required with a dark background, the reticle can illuminate in red.
The design of he Paragon x3 is as low profile as possible. No opaque protrusions to reduce situational awareness. Controls, windage and elevation adjustments are close to the body of the optic.
The Paragon x3 comes with a honeycomb killflash sunshade.
Caliber Range (max): 12ga, 338.
Ideal For: WK-180C, WS-MCR, ACR, Tavor, Templar, Ar15, XCR-L

Specter Arms Ascension
$180
The Ascension is a one power scope with the largest eye relief range of the Prism scopes. It uses a circle-cross reticle. When it comes to speed, without switching to a red dot, it is ideal for someone wanting a close quarters optic but not wanting to be at the mercy of batteries. In the cold Canadian climate there is some wisdom in avoiding something battery dependent in the outdoors.
The reticle is glass etched and does not need batteries to work but if a contrast is required with a dark background, the reticle can illuminate in red. Its illumination knob is easy to manipulate with gloves.
The Ascension has a low centerline and is not intended for modern sporting rifles.

Caliber Range (max): 12ga
Ideal For: SKS, PC9, traditional stocked shotguns
