Bohemian Style Ruby Cut to Clear Hand-Cut Crystal Vase
This beautiful mid-century hand-cut 24% lead crystal vase is a remarkable example of East European glass craftsmanship.
The vase is heavy and is reminiscent of Bohemian glass artistry, in particular for its ruby red cut-to-clear cased overlay glass technique.
The intricate geometric crystal hand cuts in so many varied and detailed designs is amazing: ovals, dots, crisscross, lattice-like cuts, diamond-like cuts, stylistic floral patterns, spheres, fans and stars. The bottom of the vase is finished in a starburst pattern.
Deep rich ruby red cut to clear.
Very stable design with a flared out bottom and top.
Measures 10" High x 4 1/4" Diameter (across the bottom) x 4 1/2" Diameter (across the top).
Original foil label would read "IMIL....Prodcomplex - Targu Mures" if it still had it. Targu Mures is a historical region of Transylvania, in the NW part of Romania.
Excellent condition with no chips, no cracks and no repairs.
My research tells me that it goes for upwards of $350, so I'm asking $300 for it.
