FCSS Bookkeeper/Payroll Technician

We are hiring for the position of Bookkeeper/Payroll Technician. In this position you will be responsible for: attending to daily receipts as provided by staff; accounts payable & receivable; reconciling accounts; ledger entries; completing monthly and yearly financial reports; preparing for audits; bi-monthly payroll including calculations for staffing costs, benefits and WCB; compliance reports with Canada Revenue Agency and the Charitable Societies Act; data entry; tax returns; filing; monitor program budgets, and other financial matters as needed.

Preference will be given to applicants with the following Qualifications& Attributes:

-Accounting Diploma or Equivalent Certificates
-Specific work with QuickBooks and Excel Spreadsheets
-Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Able to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure
-Values teamwork, client-care and professionalism
-Education and/or experience working for non-profit organizations would be an asset
-Knowledge of the FCSS mandate

This position is fast paced; the successful candidate will receive on-the-job training from commencement of employment through to mid-February 2020, assuming more responsibilities with experience. It is expected that the candidate will start early to mid November and fully resume the role by mid February 2020.
The position is offered at 4-days per week throughout the year and slows to 3 days per week during the summer months.
